Tagged Again

Are you kidding me? I've been tagged again! By someone I tagged! My "so-called" friends know that blogging is becoming a borderline addiction of mine (things could be worse). The information I am being forced to divulge this time is...

THE MEANING OF MY KIDS' NAMES

Just when we decided on names, something would quickly make us change our minds. Going in to our very first ultrasound at 19 weeks (yep, that's about half-way through) we had ONE female and male name picked out since we were only supposed to find out if the baby was a boy or girl. Brandon's first name was already decided - not for any particular reason other than we both liked it and wanted our kids to have uncommon, yet normal names.

Once we found out that we had two little boys to name instead of just one, that's when our dilemma ensued, if only for a couple of hours. Immediately after the ultrasound, where my babies were referred to as "A" and "B," we were discussing names for baby #2 over lunch with my mom and sister. It started as a joke that we already had a "B" name, we just needed to pick out an "A" name to match the labels given by the ultrasound technician. We liked the name Drew and decided Andrew would work perfectly for our "A" name. We just knew we didn't want rhyming names like Brandon and Landon (how weird would that be?)

(It's kind of funny that our first-born's name was picked second and the second-born's first.)

The middle names took a few months to figure out. The week before the twins were born we were still disagreeing about it. But we did settle on family names from Eric's side: Andrew Ross and Brandon Dale (they share the same middle names as a grandpa, 2 uncles, and a great-grandpa).
