Daddy's girls

Family birthday party

Eric just started the MBA program at Cal Baptist about 4 weeks ago, so he was unable to attend his own birthday celebration with his family. We still ate cake and I made a wish and blew out the candles for him. I'm helpful like that...

Eric's 37th birthday celebration

We braved Joe's Crab Shack with the kids and the parentals. Aside from the lengthy wait, it was great. Every restaurant should have a little playground to occupy the littles while waiting to be seated.

mmmm....tasty menu

Kira & Grandma sippin' their drinks

the menfolk

double duty

'cuz the boys LOVE sharks

the birthday boy

this girl was dancing with the servers

The family celebration

Eric turned the big 20 - 13
{as my good friend Wendy would say}

Drew wanted to help blow out the candles

The cake & ice cream fiends

Playing "Battle Cat" [an old family tradition] with Uncle Adam

{you know you remember He-Man's trusty "steed"}

Guitar Hero is just the right size

Disneyland + Birthdays = FUN

We took advantage of the free entrance to Disneyland on Eric's birthday {yes, that was February} and had a marvelous time with friends {Jen shares the same b-day}.

We ran into Goofy while Eric was in City Hall getting his $65 merchandise card

{they weren't too thrilled with being this close to him - I think I'm having Chick-fil-A flashbacks}

The boys LOVE Autotopia {we HATE the line}

a couple family shots

This is what the boys did while we waited for Eric & Rob to get back from riding Splash Mountain {we got A LOT of stares as this went on for about 20 minutes}

As if spending the entire day at Disneyland wasn't enough, we hit Benihana's for dinner. It was absolutely delicious, and the boys actually enjoyed themselves.

Complimentary birthday picture

{sorry for the ghetto picture of a picture - I severly lack in the scanner skills department}

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ERIC!

The top 5 reasons I love this guy:

1. He completes me. {Remember Jerry Maguire?} We are complete opposites and don't have many common interests and hobbies, but we fit together like pieces of a puzzle {assembled correctly, of course}.

2. He is compassionate. It's not an emotion he shares or shows often in public, but he has a heart of gold and wants to help so many people in need.

3. He is a hard worker. I've never seen anyone work as hard or as much as he does. He goes without a lot of sleep in order to get everything done. He even helps clean the dishes and kitchen after dinner without being asked.

4. He is funny. When he's not working, he gets a kick out of cracking jokes and being a big tease.

5. He loves our kids. Our boys love to wrestle and play with Daddy - there's nothing better than seeing all three of them rolling around on the floor having a good time.
